For the last ten years scientists have been working on their project The Census of Marine Life. This project was founded ta answer three main questions: What did live in the oceans? What does live in the oceans? What will live in the oceans This year they have been looking thoroughly through many historical documents to find new species and have found about 6,000 new species including:
The yeti crab pictured to the right.
Celebes Sea beauty and Enypniastes eximia pictured above.
Reflection:
I think it is kind of scary to think if scientists only just found out that these creatures even existed and to try to imagine what other weird and wonderful creatures could be lurking down in the deep. I also think that it is very important that we find out more about what creatures live on our Earth because they could also give us answers to some of our most important questions like the Sea Urchins for example as I mentioned in one of my previous blog postes.
WOW! I LOVE THIS CURRENT EVENT ESPECIALLY THE PICS.
