There has been yet another development in our knowledge of the bizarre animal kingdom, however this time it is something a little smaller than the salamander. The dung beetle, this little insect's only food is the waste from other animals, or dung. These insects have puzzled scientists for years, how do they keep such a straight line when rolling their pile of muck. Well thankfully now there is an answer which I assume you have all been waiting for. They use the stars. This was all worked out by a scientist using a fairly simple method. She simply put the beetle in a dark container with a hole in the top, so they could be sure it wasn't using the horizon line as a reference point. The results where correct, the beetle went in a straight line, only following the sky. This information is very interesting, and is a fun fact that can bring people closer to scientists, by allowing them to see that scientists are simply curious and want to find out more and that it isn't all equations and complicated elements out there.
