What I learned this week:
- That bats are not cave dwellers but cave visiters.
- The reason some cave dwellers have no pigment in their skin is because there is no sunlight.
- Caves are very well insulated because of the hundreds of meters of dirt on top of them so their temperature stays the same through all of the seasons.
- The land that we stand on is really thin in comparison to the rest of the bowels of the Earth.
- The mantle is probably 300 degrees cooler than the core of the Earth.
What I Want to Learn
- Why is it so hot in the center of the Earth?
- How did the Earth start?
- How do rivers erode the cave rock?
Good questions, I bet you will find out a lot on the website I had you explore on Friday.
